I love to support new and young brands, as I’m sure you will know, so when I was approached by LD Equestrian to try out their new breeches, I was so excited.
Unfortunately, those of you who follow me on social media will be aware, I’ve had a run of bad luck this summer with 2 of my horses, and with the other out on loan, I’ve not been in the saddle for months, which isn’t great when you want to test drive some riding wear!
Established in 2016, LD Equestrian is the brain child of Lydia Duce, who saw a gap in the market for stylish yet technical riding apparel, using luxurious, modern materials and paying attention to the finest of detail and I have to say these breeches don’t disappoint.
The first thing I noticed was the material, they are made from a lightweight stretch shell type fabric, which makes them perfect for all year-round riding, they wick away moisture and feel like a second skin.
Next is the shape, every curve of your body shape whilst you are in the saddle is catered for- from the full seat with cut away pockets for extra comfort to the pleats over the knee to allow your knee to bend and you don’t get those uncomfortable wrinkles behind your knee around your boots, which I hate!
One of my favourite things is the lycra around the lower leg and the ankle, no bulky Velcro, and no riding up! The pockets at the front are extra deep to allow for a smart phone and high waisted so they keep you tucked in!
On the knees you have LDE ProTech grip silicone strips to aid your leg movement and ensure a better grip against the saddle which essentially should help with your position and assist your riding.
The breeches are finished off with some subtle diamantes, and a zip and clasp closure- they are simply divine!
I’m yet to actually ride in them yet, but I spent some time doing yard duties in them and they were really comfy as well as flexible- what I really liked is that they hold their shape and don’t bag around the knee or bum.
Priced at £70, they are also available in Navy blue.

They have a fab range and will be launching riding leggings really soon, which are available to pre- order now.
So, if you are looking for a new pair of breeches, I’d certainly add these from LD Equestrian to your Christmas list.
